It's All About Student Life
The majority of college or university students are aged between 18 and 30 years old. Some will pursue higher education often living away from the family home for the very first time. Personal journal writing indicates the extent to which a student is coping with the consequences of moving away from a familiar territory. The individual entries of keeping a journal act as a reflection on academic, social, work and life experiences whilst studying. It could be that you have chosen not to attend university full time and have been successful in securing an Apprenticeship, or studying for a NVQ – use this journal as a precious log of your learning. Treat your journal like your best friend to write your inner most thoughts and feelings - dialogue can become an argument (like essay writing) or a debate with yourself. Lecturers and Trainers often ask their students to keep a journal and sometimes assign journals entries as part of the coursework which could be included in the final grade.
